Friends of St Mary's Barnes

Who we are
The Friends of St Mary’s Barnes aim to raise funds for the upkeep and renovation of our historic church building and churchyard and promote awareness of its place in the history and life of Barnes. St Mary’s is the oldest building in Barnes dating back to the 1100s, as well as an award-winning piece of contemporary architecture, and has always been at the heart of the Barnes community. Through the events we run throughout the year, we raise considerable funds for maintaining and enhancing the church building and churchyard, as well as for nominated charities, and bring many people from Barnes and beyond into our inspiring building.
We are led by an Advisory Council made up of people in the congregation and in the wider community of Barnes. If you wish to make a donation or receive more information, please contact the chairman Andrew Summers at friends@stmarybarnes.org.

What we do
We run a series of events throughout the year including concerts, lectures, exhibitions, shows and balls and everyone coming to these events is regarded as a “Friend”. These include three major annual events which have become an established part of the Barnes calendar:
Barnes Charity Ball in February
Barnes Music Festival in March
Barnes Charity Fashion Show in October
Please click on these events to go to their individual websites for full information. See also the full list of Events 1995-2015 and Annual Reports for each year below.
